As has been the case in our eight previous seasons, Personally Speaking in 2018-19 will take you on often unexpected, sometimes uncomfortable, but always interesting journeys that range from politics to fiction and from history to mystery.

Five UNC Charlotte scholar/researchers will lead conversations about books they have written and how they came to write them during this 9 th year of the annual series presented by UNC Charlotte’s College of Liberal Arts Sciences,J. Murrey Atkins Library andUNC Charlotte Center City.

The events are open to the public without charge, but registration is required.

2018-19 Personally Speaking conversations

“We offer this series to engage the community in conversations about relevant topics considered in books written by our faculty,” said Nancy A. Gutierrez, dean of the College of Liberal Arts Sciences. “Not only is this a way for us to connect with the community, but it also is a way to share knowledge and spark discussion.”

Each conversation will begin at 6:30 p.m. at UNC Charlotte Center City, 320 E. Ninth Street (Charlotte 28202) and will be followed by a reception and book signing. The series is open to the public without charge, but registration is required.

More About the 2018-19Series

by David Goldfield:

The federal government was instrumental in the great economic, social, and environmental progress of the post-World War II era. Examining the presidencies of Truman, Eisenhower, and Johnson shows how the nation's leaders persevered to create conditions for the most gifted generation in U.S. history.

by Mary Layton Atkinson:

From the Affordable Care Act to No Child Left Behind, politicians often face a puzzling problem: Although most Americans support the aims and key provisions of these policies, they oppose the bills themselves. Why does the American public so often reject policies that seem to offer them exactly what they want?

Freedom Narratives of African American Women: A Study of 19th Century Writings by Janaka Bowman Lewis:

Stories of liberation from enslavement or oppression have become central to African American women's literature. An examination of the collective free identity of black women and their relationships to the community focuses on education, individual progress, marriage and family, labor, intellectual commitments and community rebuilding projects.

by Karen L. Cox:

Strange, fascinating, and sobering, tells the true story of a local feud, killing, investigation, and trial in Natchez, MS, showing how a true crime tale of falling southern grandeur and murder obscured an all-too-familiar story of racial injustice.

by Bryn Chancellor:

Evocative and atmospheric,is a coming-of-age novel, a mystery, and a moving exploration of the elemental forces that drive human nature -- desire, loneliness, grief, love, forgiveness, and hope -- as witnessed through the inhabitants of one small Arizona town.

Opinion Nano Is Found to Be Significantly More Eco-Friendly Than Bitcoin

A trend for the last couple of years has been for cryptocurrencies to focus on their electricity intake to cause less damage to the environment. This way of thinking originated from the fact that first generation cryptocurrencies, like bitcoin and litecoin, are taxing on the environmentdue to the energy needed for mining. This has led some people to seek out the most eco-friendly cryptocurrencies on the market as a means of taking a stance against regressive mining techniques.

This is one of the reasons why people choose to buy Nano. The fact that Nano does not need miners, or even stakers, means that it has little impact on the environment. According to the organization ‘ Is Nano Green Yet? ‘ the cryptocurrency only uses a fraction of the electricity bitcoin uses — Nano needs only 0.112 Wh per transaction whereas bitcoin needs 950 kWh per transaction. This, alone, makes Nano significantly greener. In general, DAG-based cryptocurrencies are much less damaging to the environmentas they all eradicate the need for miners.

The organization ‘Is Nano Green Yet’ is focusing on trying to redress the balance regarding CO2 emissions by collecting donations to reforest the land. Together with D2C Beauty Womens Hollow Out Breathable Slip On Flat Loafers Shoes White VcRzpWOqg
, the Nano community has been contributing to planting new trees in deforested areas to offset the damage.

When the topic of carbon footprints comes up in the crypto community, it is often disregarded by fans defaulting to claims thatfiat banks cause more damage, and while this is likely true, it does not take away from the fact that cryptocurrency is still harmful. It may even be the case that if cryptocurrencies like bitcoin were the dominant way of handling money, they would be less damaging, but at the moment, that is not what’s happening.

Currently, both bitcoin and fiat coexist, meaning that they are both harmful. In an age where most people are conscious of the environment, we should be taking a stance to do something about it. That is not to say that bitcoin should be avoided, but rather that people shouldaim for change— either through the means of using more eco-friendly sources of energy such as solar panelsor by campaigning for future developers to be more mindful of the strain traditional crypto mining has.

Backlinks removal services became very popular in 2012, after the release of Google Penguin. Prior to the algorithm update, the more backlinks your website had, the higher the chances to rank high for your keywords. Before, links couldn’t harm your SEO.

When Google Penguin was released, things changed dramatically. Websites with an unnatural backlinks profile started to be penalized. Today, it isn’t about the number of backlinks your website has, but more about the quality and authority of the sites linking to you.

People used to pay big money to get more backlinks, and now they are willing to pay just as much to remove bad links.

Crazy, isn’t it?

Websites with too many low-quality backlinks have lower chances to rank in the top results in Google. If you have suddenly lost traffic after a Google algorithm update, you should do a backlinks analysis and remove the bad backlinks that can harm your SEO.

In this article, I will show you how the backlinks removal process works and how you can delete unwanted backlinks.

If you are not interested in reading the whole article, use the table of content to navigate through the post:
